In an effort to provide positive public perception regarding the City of Rawlins Cemetery, James Gores and Associates, Inc. was contracted to design a state-of-the-art irrigation system for their cemetery. We teamed with the premier irrigation design firm in the nation – Aqua Engineering in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The existing irrigation system was found to be deficient, as was evidenced by the lack of grass throughout the cemetery. It is also manually controlled, creating inefficient operation. The newly designed system will provide adequate coverage, and will also be controlled via a centralized control center connected to a weather station. This will provide simple, efficient operation, and reduce water waste during and after precipitation events. During the design process it was also noted the Rawlins Public Works facilities did not have adequate flow to their site, or to the fire hydrant located in the southwest corner of the cemetery. We provided additional design services to change the configuration of the supply main to the existing fire hydrant and Public Works facilities. This will ensure their operations have adequate daily flows, as well as fire protection.
